The Raconteur Natural Perfume
The Raconteur, founded in 2019 by Craig Andrade, is an artisanal luxury fragrance based in Sydney, Australia. The Raconteur tells the story of the scent of Australia. This fragrance collection includes soy candles, reed diffusers, oil burner blends, eau de parfums and perfume oil serums.
The Raconteur specialises in botanical fragrances using Australian native plant extracts. Their fragrances are functional, they transcend gender, and all their products are handmade in Australia.
All the perfume serums and limited edition eau de parfums comprise only natural ingredients (ie 100% plant derived). The candles are made using 100% soy wax and exceptional plant derived ingredients. They are all vegan and cruelty free.
All fragrances are gender neutral. They don’t believe that gender identity has any role to play in deciding what fragrance notes a person should, or shouldn’t like.
Refined in their composition
The Raconteur is inspired to tell the story of Australia’s native botanicals and taking their unique fragrant extracts to the rest of the world. The beauty of the Australian landscape is extraordinary. Although we have over 18,000 unique native botanicals, they are not well known by the fragrance world. Apart from obvious ingredients like sandalwood, buddawood, boronia, our gums, tee-trees and myrtles, very little else is known. The Raconteur's Founder & Master Perfumer Craig intends to continue to raise the profile of Australia’s native botanicals and hopefully bring new ingredients to market.

Our goal is to share interesting stories about fragrant Australian native botanicals. We are guided by the seasons, unique locations, and the practice of making our products by hand. It's something to savour and take quiet pleasure in: appreciating the beauty of exceptional natural ingredients drawing a link between conscious design, conscious consumption, and building a deeper connection to nature at the same time.
Ancient healing practices involving the use of aroma chemicals from plants are also fascinating. Various scientific studies have shown the impact on brain activity following the inhalation of plant derived scents, and this field of the chemistry of aromatherapy is another area that informs our decision to work with naturals.
Our goal is to make a range of fragrances that highlight the beauty of natural ingredients at the highest concentration possible.
